Sledding

We went sledding for a few minutes today. It was not really that cold out today. It was 10 degrees (it was -20 yesterday morning) but the wind was blowing a lot for us here. We went to the sledding hill any how, knowing we might not be there to long. We stopped by the store on the way to get some hot chocolate to make upon our return home. When we got to the sledding hill the wind was blowing even harder off of the hill than it was at home. We did make a few trips down the hill, and decided to go home and warm up. We didn’t get any pictures except this one video clip.

Mercy and Her Birthday Afghan

Mercy Fire was happy to show off her new afghan she got for her birthday from her granny. She also has her birthday dress and toy horse.

Wow~ In The City

When we go to the city, often we feel like foreigners looking at all the selection of these big American stores. We often feel a little out of place at first when in the city. But it is also fun to see some of neat and weird things we do not have in our little store in our small town. We liked this picture made from license plates. We collected license plates for a long time. We were thinking of using our license plate collection as siding on our out house building we built this summer. We also found these fuzzy lamps to be very funny. They were fun to look at but we found a picture of them was all we needed. We just couldn’t waste money on them. It is amazing how much neat “stuff” there is to spend your money on, and it really does not make your life that much better. :)

Apple Tree

Judah found an apple seed that was sprouting in an apple he was eating. He wanted to plant it, even though we were not to sure it would grow very good. Several months later and one re-potting, we have a nice little tree. But now we are a little unsure what to do with it. There is a chance it might make it through the winter indoors, but what about next year? It won’t make it out doors in the cold. At least it was fun to grow for the short time we have it.

Hearing the Heart Beat

Hearing the heart beat of baby #6 for the first time was very exciting for us as parents. The children were able to all go in for the appointment too, but they were more interested in the new surroundings than in hearing the “swish- swish- swish” of the doppler. :)   We got a few seconds of it on video, but the heart beat is very quiet on this recording and we had to turn up the volume as loud as we could to hear it.  We hope you can hear it. Somethings are never as good as in real life. :)

Vision thought the birth tub was interesting (maybe because she was born in there? or maybe not…) however it made for an interesting picture. A coming full circle kind of thing.

Little Girl – Big Thirst

Upon our arrival home the other day, Vision decided she was thirsty.  She must of had a two quart thirst. :) We use this big water bottle on trips, and when we got home she found it on the table and decided to help herself. We had just got home from the dentist where we had to drive over 200 miles in the snow. It was nice to be home, and must have worked up a big thirst. The appointment went well, just hope we don’t have to back again for a while. :)

Baby Van

We have a new “baby” van, as we like to call it. It is a big switch from the 15 pack van, but it seems to run better, and it is good on gas. The children seem to love it. We think it could have had a little more leg room. :) It will last for a while but when we have to many children we will be going back to a 15 passenger van again. ;)

Peek-A-Boo! ~ video

Here is a few second clip of Vision O’YHWH playing peek-a-boo. We took the video with our digital camera, so it is a little grainy but it is cute.

First Big Snow

We had snow in September this year but it didn’t last and the weather warmed up. We went almost a month since then with some pretty It is not unheard of to have -30 at the end of October. So it was a real treat when we had warmer weather until the 26th of October when it finally dumped 6 inches of snow over night. The day we had dentist appointments and had to drive 200+ miles. Ug. But all went well. The children were very happy to see the coming of the white stuff. In fact they were out there sledding first thing in the morning… who needs breakfast! They made snow angels and made trails; however for a “first snow” it was to dry to make snow balls or snow men. Maybe next year or at the end of this year we might get a wet snow and be able to make snow men. We can only make snow men once every couple years or so. Here are a few pictures I snapped of the children playing that morning.
