THIS IS MY BODY

“This is My Body” was inspired through a conversation that Fr. Pavone had with Dana about the comparison between the words “This is My Body” as used by Jesus to give us eternal life, and as used by abortion supporters to defend the taking of life.

Fr. Pavone gave Dana the brochure that he had written about this comparison, and suggested that a song should be written to convey this powerful message. Within a few hours, Dana called him back and said that she had the song basically written! After subsequent meetings and sitting together at the piano, Fr. Frank and Dana were satisfied that the finished product would inspire pro-life people worldwide.

In the song, Dana plays the role of a woman who has had an abortion. Gretchen sings as a woman who believes in the “right to choose.” And Mark plays the role of Jesus, who teaches us to sacrifice ourselves for others. They each do this using the same words, “This is My Body.”

Halloween~ Is It Wise?

Photobucket

This picture just does not set right with me. It is a true oxymoron in my opinion. Christian and Halloween are as far apart as the east is from the west. Are we trying to be wise in our own eyes, while looking the part of the fool before our creator?

Halloween is bad! We all know that from the church circles we are around, but how bad? There are many pagan holidays, easter, christmas, but this holiday tops the others with its boldness in evil delights. We as a family do not partake of this evil event and see no need to have some cheap substitute for Halloween rituals, dressing them in church clothes, calling it a harvest festival. Why would the church even give this filth a second glance (as a dog returns to it’s vomit?). It is sad that many have not decided what side of the line they wish to stand on.

Joshua 24:15 (King James Version)
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Halloween is filled with death horror and every foul thing under the sun. There is no life in it! So why would we not follow the verse below? Why would we not follow and choose to focus on the words of life of Yeshua? And instead follow the masses on the wide path to Halloween and Harvest festival traditions?

Deuteronomy 30:19 (King James Version)
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Could it be we as the “church” are not where we should be? Are not in “Christ”? Hmmm. Christ refers to the Anointed one (Messiah). What was he anointed to do? Lets look at Luke 4:18

Luke 4:18 (King James Version)
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

He said”Spirit of the Lord is upon me” that means he was anointed. The same root meaning as we get the word for ointment. So the power of YHWH was upon him to do what?

  • preach the gospel to the poor
  • heal the brokenhearted
  • preach deliverance to the captives
  • recovering of sight to the blind (I believe this was natural as well as spiritual)
  • set at liberty them that are bruised

We have become a spiritually blind people, who say we know YHWH (God) but we don’t keep his ways.

Proverbs 1:27-33 (King James Version)
27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

Is there any hope then? We only need to read on one more verse…..

33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

If something is evil, why would we partake? It is the same for movies, books, games, and holidays. We know some christian families that partake of Halloween to different degrees while banning evil movies filled with magic. Others we know are the opposite. They often say “we do not let our children celebrate Halloween”. But they fill their children’s heads full of magic and evil in the movies they watch, games and the like.  Pray about this before you would let your children be involved in a holiday that is evil while we say we know the Messiah. We need to be unified in the messages we are sending to our children.

Proverbs 3:7

Do not be wise in your own eyes;

fear YHWH and shun evil.

Pancakes

We had pancakes the other morning for breakfast. I don’t like cooking them to often because it seems like it takes so long standing there in one place to get them all done. I put a cookie sheet in the oven on warm and when each was done, I slipped them in the oven until all were finished. My hip sometimes bothers me when standing for long periods so Jason had Judah go out to a storage area we have and bring in our old stool. It helped me to sit high enough I could still cook. It worked nice. The pancakes were a big hit. Peanut butter and syrup is the favorite of the children. :)

First Big Snow

We had snow in September this year but it didn’t last and the weather warmed up. We went almost a month since then with some pretty It is not unheard of to have -30 at the end of October. So it was a real treat when we had warmer weather until the 26th of October when it finally dumped 6 inches of snow over night. The day we had dentist appointments and had to drive 200+ miles. Ug. But all went well. The children were very happy to see the coming of the white stuff. In fact they were out there sledding first thing in the morning… who needs breakfast! They made snow angels and made trails; however for a “first snow” it was to dry to make snow balls or snow men. Maybe next year or at the end of this year we might get a wet snow and be able to make snow men. We can only make snow men once every couple years or so. Here are a few pictures I snapped of the children playing that morning.

More Storage In The Kitchen

We were in need of some more storage in our kitchen. There was not enough room for all the great Tupper Ware we had collected from the time Anna was a Tupper Ware sales person. Plus we wanted the dishes at arms reach for the children so they can help put dishes up after washing them, they could also easily  get the dishes out for setting the table for dinner. We used the wall between the dinning room and the new addition (living room) to build our new cabinet. We have ten foot walls in this room. We built the cabinet ten feet from top to bottom and four feet wide. We built the cabinet partially into the framed 2×8 wall to make it deeper for more storage. The lower two feet had some electrical running through it.  The upper two feet we left the insulation in so it covers the wall where the roof for the addition attaches, so we could not build into these wall sections.   We added blocking in the wall at these two feet marks between the studs making a center section of six feet that was 8 inches deep. The studs were two foot on center, so two stud widths were enough to make the cabinet four feet wide. We made a box out of 2×12’s that matched the stud lay out of the wall, with one in the center, and boxed it in top and bottom. This made the bases for our cabinet. In the picture below you can see the box of 2×12’s and the recessed area that is in the wall adding an extra eight inches of depth to that section of the cabinet. You can also see the first of the shelves going in. The shelves are 3/4 inch plywood and are later trimmed with 3/4 solid wood trims to make them look nice.
Photobucket
Judah wanted to help screw on some of the 19 inch long shelf supports. Jason had already marked the lines on the one foot lay out. Judah seemed confident he could do it. So Jason let him have a try. Jason stood back while Judah took over and put on eight of the supports without missing a lick. He even showed great skill in enlisting Serenity Rose’s help, on the last few, to hold the other end while he got it started. He kept each of them straight, on the pencil line, and flush to the front edge of the cabinet.
Photobucket
While we were putting tools away this evening we looked over our work to find Bubbles trying to take a snooze on the bottom of our cabinet. In the other two pictures below, you can see on the left, that we just finished putting in the shelves, on the right (the next day) you can see the casing around the front and trim edges on each shelf.
Photobucket
Jason made a couple of jigs to set the cross pieces in place on the cabinet doors. This made things go quicker on each of the other doors. It also made things uniform and for all the doors to match.
Photobucket
Above you can see Judah standing by the first door. Below you can see Serenity Rose standing by the cabinet with all of the doors finished. Now it is time to reorganize the kitchen.

Happy Birthday Mercy Fire

We have been really busy the last couple of weeks. Mercy Fire had her 6th birthday the other day in the middle of all of our busyness. It was nice to enjoy an evening of birthday fun.

She had a fun birthday. She liked all her presents; however the cake and ice cream was the real hit with all the children.
