Free wood!

After church on our way home the end of September we went for a drive out of town a ways. At the edge of town there is a place where a major fire came close to town a few years ago. Many from people have been going there to harvest standing dead “fire kill” trees, for fire wood. The wood was free for the taking from the forestry dept. We didnt go to go get wood, but to look and see what was out there, since we hadn’t been out on that side of town yet.


To our suprise we found a load of fire wood spread across a vast area. That was left by others. A piece here, and a peice there, all left by people that had cut more than they could haul. It was like an easter egg hunt, but for fire wood.

By the time we called it quits we filled the back of our van! Not bad for a Sunday drive after church, and not bringing a chainsaw!
